Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday bagged the award of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Christian Theology.
A six-man external panel pronounced him worthy of the award after he spent 163 minutes defending his dissertation before the panel.
The ex- President got the degree from the Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abeokuta Study Centre, Ogun State with a PhD thesis titled: Resolving the Unfinished Agenda in Liberation Theology: Leadership, Poverty And Underdevelopment In North Eastern Nigeria.
The panelists were Dr. Mande Samaila (Dean, Postgraduate School, NOUN) as Chairman, Prof. Cletus Gotan (External Supervisor), Prof. Deji Ayegboyin (Major Supervisor), Mustapha Raheem Adejoro, (Head of Department, Religious Studies (NOUN) and Prof. Nebath Tanglang (Representative, School of Postgraduate Studies, NOUN) and Prof. Godwin Akper (Internal Supervisor and Dean, Faculty of Arts, NOUN)
