Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, was rested for the team’s training session on Wednesday evening.
Salah was a notable absentee, as Jurgen Klopp’s continued preparations for this Friday’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Fans took to social media to express their concerns that their top scorer might be injured, but it has emerged that Klopp was happy to leave out the Egyptian, who was announced as an ambassador for Vodafone on the same day.
Vodafone Egypt announced Salah as their new brand ambassador on Wednesday, initially causing confusion that he might have been back home.
In a statement on Facebook they hailed Salah as “the best player in Africa for 2017, and the English Premier League and Egyptian national team.”
