APC twisting facts to cover failure – Osun PDP guber aspirant, Akin Ogunbiyi

A leading gubernatorial aspirant under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has accused the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, of twisting facts to divert attentions from its failure and error.
He queried the significant achievement of the APC since it came to power despite the “hullabaloo of change”, adding that the party had no definite direction.
Ogunbiyi, made the statement on Tuesday at the PDP secretariat in Osogbo, while declaring his intention to seek the party’s ticket.
He described as flimsy, the excuse of the APC that the level of corruption under PDP government was responsible for its “non-performance, saying APC government did not prepare for governance.
“Just look at Osun for example, what significant achievement can you ascribe to this government after spending over seven years, except the huge debt incurred.
“I am not saying borrowing is bad, but it must be used for productive things that tend towards changing the life of the people for better.
“In Osun situation, after incurring huge debt with little physical achievement for justification, the people were still made to beg for food.
“Since there is so much hunger in the land, I have resolved to embark on empowerment programme for the people rather than “ephemeral stomach infrastructure “, he said.
He later got a huge accolades from the audience, including journalists after announcing an offer of scholarship to the only son of a late broadcast journalist with Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), Mrs. Iyabode Olusola.
Ogunbiyi said with the scholarship, Oluwaseyifunmi Dada, the son of the deceased could study to any level he wants.
Late Dada died on Thursday, 24th May 2018 after battling with a terminal disease for years, and was survived by 11-year-old Oluwaseyifunmi.
