Peter Obi reacts to corruption allegations, APC’s insistence that PDP spent $16bn on power

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi has refuted allegations of corruption.
He spoke at a town hall meeting tagged: ‘’The Candidates”, organised by the MacArthur Foundation in collaboration with NTA and DARIA media on Wednesday in Abuja.
Obi stated that it was untrue that as governor of Anambra, he used his position to register a company with most of his family members as shareholders.
“It’s all lies, let the prove their claim. I actually left large sums of money in the state account at the end my tenure”, he said.
The running mate to Atiku Abubakar noted the former vice president had the capacity to address the country’s growing unemployment statistics.
“If you look at his cumulative experience, his age notwithstanding, you will agree with me that he had what it will take to address the country`s developmental challenges,“ he said.
Obi added that the PDP government invested heavily in the power sector but that APC government had not invested anything in the sector.
“If you say that the PDP spent $16 billion and there is no power, it is not true,” Obi stated.
