Odion Ighalo will fight desperately to remain at Manchester United, according to the UK Mirror.
Ighalo will speak with his parent club, Shanghai Shenhua, to allow him to extend his stay at Old Trafford, after negotiations between the two sides broke down.
The 30-year-old’s loan deal is due to end on May 31, which would have marked the end of the season in normal circumstances.
The Nigerian striker will now plead with the Chinese Super League club himself, in a bid to convince them to change their minds and reach an agreement with United.
Shenhua have not played since December because of the COVID-19 outbreak in China.
However, the delayed season is scheduled to restart next month.
The club are also offering Ighalo a new two-year deal that will see him earn £400,000 per week.
