More than a dozen civilians have lost their lives in a powerful bomb explosion that ripped through a residential neighborhood in Iraq’s central province of Karbala.
Security sources, requesting not to be named, said the blast took place in the town of Ayn Tamer, located 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) west of the provincial capital Karabala, leaving 15 people dead and 16 others injured.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the assault yet, but such incidents are usually blamed on the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group, which has been wreaking havoc in Iraq’s northern and western parts since June 2014.
